LCY! Wow... So we can expect some lovely seat dumps from Papa Lufty. |
Great news on both fronts, thanks yurtripper. There’s no high-speed rail between Warsaw and Lublin and a same-day return is a drag, at least I can fly on the way back, shame just that they couldn’t do better times (e.g. morning service). The LCY service is a very welcome and needed addition to the Warsaw network ^ G |

Very poor P & J loads on LO9/10 (KRK-ORD) so far, pretty good in Y.
Forward bookings on RZE-EWR not so bad this far out, but most flights have 0 pax booked in P and J. Surprised they're not heavy with staff friends on their 1300zl J fares. |
Raffles wrote on his blog that LO will take 4 “brand new” E90 as part of LCY launch. Why 4? And why brand new when the last lot were used in high density config from Azur. |
The ex-Azul ones can't land at LCY, the four new ones will be in special configuration for steep aproaches.

And what about their own, factory fresh E90/5? I thought it was a matter of a software upgrade. 4 E90 for double daily. LUZ 4x weekly? Is that another political job like IEG? LH could never get LUZ to work and bmi are struggling with as small as ER3. 78 seats on a Dash 8 I think. I do hope their monumental expansion redeems itself. There’s a lot of empty seats flying around on LO flights and more and more capacity for routes with rather fledging business cases seems a big risk. Only a few years ago Tusk couldn’t even give it away, and he would sell Babcia. Now it’s a magical success like Muhammad’s carpet. |
Not an Embraer specialist, but, from what I'm told, E195s can't do LCY, (some?) E190s can. So, if they're serious about LCY, it makes sense to have them. These are the first E190s in LOT's fleet.
IEG is paid for by the provincial administration, so even an empty Q400 flying from Warsaw to "Zielona Góra" (in quotes, because it's seriously far away from the actual ZG) is a plus for LOT (and a minus for the taxpayers, but nobody seems to care). Not sure about how LUZ works. I do hope their monumental expansion redeems itself |

TRN is also useful for all the people from the Fiat factory nearby going to/from their corporate HQ. |

Not entirely. There are several Italian businesses in the Bielsko-Biała area - FIAT amongst those (as also marcoos mentioned) but also Ferrero, headquartered in Turin yet with a pretty solid presence in Poland (corporate offices in Warsaw virtually next door to TVN plus a large manufacturing plant in Belsk-Duży). LOT used to operate KTW-TRN back in the days. G The route was announced a couple of months ago anyway. |

True but an ad for it appeared in my browser yesterday and they were certainly promoting it as a ski route (all white background with animation of someone skiing down the slopes)
