Hi all, Im new here. Apologies for digging up an old post. I know this is a question that has been asked many times before, but when I call miles and more they are less than helpful! In 2017 I did enough flights to qualify for my frequent flyers. This is valid until Feb 2020. In 2018 I then completed 32 flights. I was under the impression that this should extend my FT up to Feb 2022. However, when I called miles and more to check this, I was told I will only requalify if I do 30+ flights in the final year (2019). Can anyone confirm what is correct? Maybe the policy has changed in recent years?

M&M are wrong in this one: if you qualified in 2017, you got FTL status for 2018 and 2019 (plus Jan-Feb 2020). You then have either 2018 or 2019 for requalification. You requalified in 2018 so it does not matter what happens in 2019. Around November 2019, your M&M page will show that your status is valid Until Feb 2022 actually.

I was FTL before 2017 and qualified as SEN in 2017 (valid until 02/20), I luckily re-qualified as SEN in 2018 and nothing changed in my M&M card (still until 02/20). My understanding now is: 2019 is also my dead year and my status actually extended already to 2022? Or it is different if I came from FTL to SEN in 2017?

Log into your M&M account and view your mileage account. You will see something like:
To extend your AAA status, you will need to earn xxxxx additional status miles between 01.01.2019 and 31.12.2019.
(where AAA is your current status. It means you have not yet renewed your status in the current two-year period.)
or
To achieve the BBB status, you will need to earn xxxxx additional status miles between 01.01.2019 and 31.12.2019.
(where BBB is the next higher level of status. It means you have already renewed your current status in one of the two calendar years.)
