Fixed price upgrades will be more expensive for lower fares. No difference whatsoever for bidding.

Bidding: all classes are upgreadeable*.
Fixed cash in advance: not applicable, only upfare is possible. Apparently, prix fixe upgrades are now available before departure. On my upcoming AMS-VIE-KSC r/t they are 160 per leg out, 250 per leg return. Crazy price.
Fixed cash on checkin: all classes are upgradeable*

*-selected flights only. Not always available, either of them; but if available, available for all classes.

Hey, So I was looking at booking a flight from VIE -> CGN on July 13th yesterday at 6:15PM -> 7:50PM (OS195)...and now it is just gone from the OS/LH websites. Does this mean the flight was cancelled and tickets for existing people were swapped onto other planes? Or could it just be temporarily removed?

The only OS flight on this day seems to be OS191@7:20 a.m. There is a flight op by EW@8:10 p.m. though.

Yeah this is what I am seeing now. I am just wondering if the flight I was looking at was just cancelled/removed. I didn't know if there was an easy way to find out which flights were cancelled in advance.

Looks like it's cancelled indeed.

You can use webs like expertflyer to check if the flight exists, but is full (zero availability) or if it is gone.

Yeah I was using expertflyer, and checked the time table, which just showed an error suddenly later...so figured it was cancelled. I guess it is a good thing I didn't book on that flight haha. Thanks for confirming.

Hi everyone,

I was supposed to fly on LH470 on June 19th but the flight was cancelled about 8 hours before departure and I was rebooked on another Lufthansa flight to YUL and then an Air Canada flight to Toronto. I had selected 4 seats in advance, 2 going there (completed) and 2 for the return home. Am I entitled to get my money back from paying to reserve seats together? After all, the flight was so full that we weren't given any choice to sit together and were assigned by LH and AC.

Thanks!

Absolutely. Wait until you actually arrive at your final destination, and then submit a request through the contact form on the website.

Does anyone know how can I be sure for example if I buy Premium Ecomony flight to Miami that it is going to be upgradeable to Business?

Took your advice but called - half an hour on hold but the person I spoke to was able to refund my original payment method! Thanks for your advice!

Hello there,
First time flying LH & LX post pandemic and have a few questions regarding an upcoming itinerary, and any insight would be very helpful:
1. We are flying CDG-LAX in First (Biz on the CDG-MUC leg) next month: what is the situation at CDG T2B? I'm used to flying them out of T1 and have never experienced T2B. Anything to be aware of? How early before the flight should we plan on being there.
2. Once we land in MUC: what's the situation to get to the First Class Lounge? Do we get car service between planes and lounge, etc? (I'm so spoiled with AF La Premiere service so please forgive the question).
3. LX out of LAX: what is the service/lounge situation there? Do we get escort through security etc? What lounge is being used? Any other advice? Last time I flew that leg in First, we had a screaming toddler in the First cabin for the entire 11h flight 🙄

As I said, thanks a lot for any insight. It is deeply appreciated.

Well - you never can be sure. the fare basically may be upgradeable, but if the inventory for the upgrade (I class for Business) is not open, then you cannot upgrade.
Best ist to call ahead and ask if "I" is available for upgrades. if "yes", then only do I book my flight in the lower class and call up again after it has been ticketed. If "I" class is suddenly no longer available, I can still cancel my original ticket with the 24 hours.

Sometime "I" class is available for full award bookings, but not for upgrades. No way you can tell from the booking engine...
