AB is running a status match - you could even visit of of their exclusive waiting areas :-).

I did a couple segments on AB recently, all have been perfectly fine. The S20 on Darwin/Etihad Regional have awesome 1-2 seating I miss from the LO E145 days.

AB is fine for a short hop, no doubt. Some 738 have the pre NEK seat that LX had previously, where a screw is placed exactly where my knee cap resides when seated... but this flight is on a 737-700, which has the signature interior and newer NEK.

Dead year for me as well, and being somewhat tired of flying, will also limit my travels this coming year to a strict minimum, ie.not more than 3 or 4 TATL´s

Thanks for the really clear answer. I was never completely sure how it works.

As for airberlin, it is like a LCC carrier on European routes. I've always had pleasant enough flights with them, but I dislike the concept on longer flights (over 3 hours). I recently flew JFK to DUS in business class and found it excellent, better than LH.

IMHO the Account Statement page is a bit misleading. In my case I qualified end 2014 and the status is valid until 2/2017 plus two vouchers. In 2015 I managed to do 165000 miles so my dead year is this one. However the account Statement page still gives status validity to 2/2017 and two vouchers... zero stars the only difference is that during the year at some point you will get the countdown to HON and not SEN+HON.

I would like to see my real status and total number of vouchers... certainly this info is in some database that could be queries... not in some accountants paper ledger

If your statement says you have two vouchers that's all you have at present and they will expire 24 months after you received them. You will not receive two further vouchers until you receive your new SEN card in November 2016.

Dead year for me, but someone might be interested:

Maybe not very comfortable seats, but 3 - 4 not expensive trips would do the trick.

For me LH loyalty is over (or any airline per se)

To extend your Senator status, you will need to earn 100000 additional status miles between 01.01.2016 and 29.02.2016.

I didn't qualify in 2014 nor 2015. Will have few silver and 1 maybe 2 gold cards. Price and travel times are trumping loyalty.

Nope

It is not convenient from travel time. Also one rule that is not broken, max 1 stopover and on return flight BOS has to be entry to US.

Have to say the VS, BA and KLM/AF from BOS end up being winners, with LH constantly being most expensive.

in 2014 I re-qualified for SEN and my status was extended to 02.17. I did 100k+ status miles in 2015; however my statement is still showing SEN status only until 02.2017. I was expecting this to be extended until 02.2019!

Welcome to FlyerTalk, deano1!

This question has been raised many times on FT. Rest assured your SEN status is valid until February 2019. The clue is the statement when you check your account online: 'To achieve the HON Circle status, you will need to earn xxxxxx additional HON Circle miles between 01.01.2015 and 31.12.2016.'

If you have not requalified beyond February 2017 the statement tells you how many status miles you need to earn to extend your SEN status between 01.01.2016 and 31.12.2016.

The expiry date will change to February 2019 after you receive your new SEN card (and two eVouchers) in November 2016.

431,000 HON miles in 2015

Only 169,000 needed this year, so planning on a lot less on LH

Mission so far accomplished: 99.757 miles in 2016 as per today. No more credit to Miles and More until March 1 and then SEN until end February 2019
