Any ideas?

My parents just got rebooked from B to F! They are excited.
446/447 receives a (one time) 74H today, normally still no F. Interesting that they actually sell it.

480/481 goes to 346 in May and has F for the summer

I think it's great they sell it when the cabin is there. Most airlines wouldn't bother and would sell it as C.

just seems like a huge effort (catering etc) for a one time thing

Well, on the way over F-catering is obviously available at their hubs and on the way back C and F catering are very similar...

Clear strategy: F only on A380 and 747-8. Hence they now split that fleet between MUC and FRA they offer the F service on very selected routes. I am still surprised that take a seat out is a matter of months whereas bringing the new product in streches years. I call this customer fooling. As I am flying mostly LX, I just hope they keep to their strategy of having F on all planes. (On a side note, they are more profitable than LH)

I agree with you, just imagining current management thinking. There are lots of options for all aisle access business class across the pond thankfully.

Just heard today the some of the later A350 should come with F class. They originally promised MUC to keep F in 40% of the flights. With only A380 now they wont make that.

No, it's still predominantly the route. If F constantly sells a high number of F or A seats, even a small C doesn't help...

Such a promise can change quickly depending on strategy.

There are stil the A346s with F in MUC as well.

If LH to have F cabin on the newly arrived A350, then I think it will be a smaller version of 4 seats F cabin only.

When LH reduced the F seats on the B744 from 16 to 8, there were calculations that anything less than 8 would not be worthwhile. Doubt that they will have 8 on all other types and 4 on the A350. But we will see.

Any idea why F has gone MUC-HKG Winter schedule ?
Resulting in no O availability from Germany to HKG.
