Eurowings next week is operating last Cologne – Boston service for summer 2016 season, currently served 3 times a week. The airline currently operates Airbus A330-200 aircraft on this route, with last flight scheduled on 26AUG16.

Also a new attempt on Las Vegas, twice weekly starting July 3rd 2017 on Mondays and Fridays. Fares are sky-high, though, so maybe they already prepare to rebook people and make sure this way that they do not make any losses in the proces...:-)!

Eurowings in 2017 is launching planned new service on Cologne – Las Vegas route, after a year of delay. The airline originally scheduled to commence this route in June 2016, however this was cancelled in March.
The airline’s new launch date, currently available for booking, is 03JUL17, with Airbus A330-200 aircraft operating twice weekly.

Talking to a EW pilot sitting with me on an LH plane the other day, he mentioned the main problem is that LH/EW do not want to hire pilots. He mentioned they are available and in waiting but they want to keep the headcount low and also the costs.

Today the formal start of the transfer of 38 AB A32S with wetlease was announced. First routes with EW flight number and 'op by AB' are showing up in the GDS. Sale of seats on these new routes starts 22DEC2016.
MUC will retain 4 AB aircraft already stationed here. Curious if LH will deploy them as EW on former AB routes.
On longhaul news, EW launched WDH ex CGN last week.

Ha I see Dubrovnik there for EUR299.99! That's pretty good, isn't it? Must be Eurowings 1st Class!
Otherwise, a pretty decent list of destinations. The Geneva route has always been a pricey one on LH and in recent years I always opted (from the Lausanne area) for the train to Zurich then the DB bus from there. I got it as low as EUR14 (sometimes EUR19) and it wasn't a lot longer than trekking down to GVA, taking the flight and schlepping into Munich from MUC on that amazingly inefficient S-Bahn. Then LX took over the GVA route. Does that now mean that EW will replace LX?
