The problem I'm having is that they're splitting up my family in different rows (2 adults, child, infant). Absolutely ridiculous...

I've already given up on a bassinet (and flying LH ever again in the future as a result of this), but now it seems that getting a row of 3 seats together is a problem because they blocked the entire front section of the plane (rows 50-59) for status pax.

And they don't care if you have a kid and infant with you, too bad. They won't even give you a row of 3 (without a bassinet) because it's... blocked (not taken). This has to go down as the most pathetic approach I've ever come accross, but all is good, it gives me every reason not to waste my time with LH ever again. Good riddance...

Did you call the US #?

i had similar issues flying FRA-MIA on the A380. When I called the German customer service they were worthless-- but when I called LH on the US number the happily put us into bulkhead.

Looking at the SM for the A380 Y cabin, the INF seats are limited in the middle, the left three seat seems to be available.
In any case the P2 on the flight will quickly reseat you

I'm using ExpertFlyer and I'm not sure it's showing the seatmap correctly... hmm.

Oly, could you pls post the seatmap for row 88 (bassinet row) on the same route (FRA-SIN on A380) for December 29?

Seats 88D and 88G both have bassinets, but are they blocked (as bassinet seats natually would be) or are they already occupied? ExpertFlyer is showing the blocked logo on those two seats, though it does list 88E and 88F as occupied.

60 is a bassinet row so you are set.

Just to reiterate, could someone please post the seatmap for row 88 (bassinet row) on the FRA-SIN route (A380) for December 29? I just need to know whether 88 D&G are just blocked or actually taken.

Thanks Oly, you're a star.

The previous two times I called they wouldn't give me those seats even though I have an infant as part of my booking. They also mentioned that all bassinet areas are booked. That's why I thought those seats were taken even though on EF they were just showing up as blocked ([X]).

This time around I asked if they could put me in the bassinet seat as I have an infant added to my reservation and I see that the seat is merely blocked - not occupied by someone else - as I have access to an online seatmap. Sure enough the guy on the other end swiftly changed my previous seating arrangements and we all now have proper seats (together), including a bassinet. Finally.

Looking forward to the A380, I've flown the plane about 20 times but only on SQ. This will be a new and interesting experience.

new 747-400 cabin

Did you actually end up flying in F with your baby? How was it?

I am looking at booking 2 adults + 1 infant in F for FRA-NYC and finding it really difficult to get information on the amenities for the baby: is there a guaranteed bassinet? what is it like? where does it go?

I must say that finding info on travelling with infant in F generally is impossible! Quite often staff have little idea and the reality on board is not always what was promised.

I have recently spent A LOT of time on the phone with Lufthansa and Amex trying to book a ticket. We're going SFO-FRA-BCN on the A380 SFO-BCN (with some other flights on both A330s and A340s as we jet through Europe with a 14 month old).

We booked in business class and were going to use *A miles to upgrade to F. The seats were available, but once we added the lap infant we could no longer upgrade.

After some time on the phone with Lufthansa they told me there are NO Bassinet positions in F anymore and to ignore seatguru and other sites that claim there are (also, Seatguru has the wrong bassinet positions for the 380 in J class too).

Not believing what I was being told, I called two more times and asked different agents (once getting a call center in South Africa) about bassinets in F and was told they don't have them. One person explained that the New F pods don't allow for a good bassinet position.

I was told by all three people that infants were allowed in F as lap children or with their own seat, but there would be no bassinet for them. Bassinet positions are available in J and Y class only.

In order to be guaranteed a bassinet you have to have it as a special service request (same with the lap infant). The bassinets are up to 14 kg and 83 cm and are supposed to be the biggest in the industry. I was told that they are attached to the bulkhead and no other types are allowed on the planes as they can be a hazard.

So, we were left with: cancel the baby's seat, upgrade, then add him back and have him share our seats, or keep to J with the bassinet. We're keeping to J with the bassinet.

Hope this helps.

We've flow a few time with a baby in (old) F and its pretty pleasant. The seat is large enough to accommodate mother & child, seat 1K has fittings to allow attachment of a bassinet. Yes, you have to SSR the bassinette otherwise they will be short if there are too many babies on board.

We flew ZRH-MIA-FRA in F with 16 months old. Bassinet was totally not necessary. The beds are so big that you can fit in with the baby and it will be sleeping better if next to a parent.

On the outbound we got the whole F cabin to ourselves. That was a brilliant kindergarten Maybe you will find some marks from color pencils on their seats even now. (oops)

Bassinet in C on LH A380

We are flying to MIA from FRA on the refurbished A380, but are unable to find any seat maps showing the location of the baby bassinets in business class. I guess its at the bulkheads, but would rather know than guess. Anybody knows?

The bulkhead in the rear C cabin has at least one. My wife and I were in 21H and K, but my wife was in 21H and the infant was attached to her ticket, so I assume the actual bassinet seat is the one she was in (21H).

I would guess that there is a corresponding bassinet at 21C, and probably also in the front cabin bulkheads as well. For the bassinet, I think it's better if an agent reserves it anyway, so maybe best to call and ask - they will give you the correct seats and make sure the bassinet is assigned properly.

The new-business Airbus 380 that I flew two weeks ago with an infant had just two bassinet positions, 21 AC and 21 HK. The other bulkhead in row 10 had none.
