If and when a particular strike begins and flights are actually beginning to be cancelled, you can call LH and ask for a rebooking/rerouting.
LH usually rebooks to other LH Group carriers, any star alliance carrier or other IATA airline it has an interline agreement with. The preference to do so is in the same order and done only if the preferred alternative doesn't have any free seats in the class of service (not booking class). Award bookings are treated the same way, although you may be requested to contact the issuing carrier for reissuing the ticket. LH issued tickets are usually reissued using the ATC irreg system.

Against the background of the announced strike by the Independent Flight Attendant’s Organization (UFO) on Lufthansa flights on Thursday 26th of November, Friday, 27th of November and Monday, 30 of November 2015, Lufthansa is trying to keep the effect of the strike on its customers as low as possible.

Lufthansa returns to almost normal operations from Saturday onwards

After the end of the longest strike in the company’s history, Lufthansa will already return to almost normal operations on Saturday and will offer its customers the usual service as soon as possible.
All scheduled long-haul connections will be able to operate on Saturday. Furthermore the long-haul connections from Frankfurt to Hong Kong, Singapore, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo, which were scheduled to take off on late Friday evening, will be delayed to Saturday morning. Thus a cancellation of these connections can be avoided.
Lufthansa will also return to almost normal operations on short- and medium-haul flights on Saturday. Due to operational reasons, there can be occasional flight cancellations, if the aircraft or crews are not yet at the site of operation.
Lufthansa would like to sincerely apologize again to all customers, who have been affected by the strike of the Independent Flight Attendant’s Union (UFO) during the past days. The company has done its utmost to keep the effects on their customers as low as possible.
Altogether the company was forced to cancel approximately 4,700 flights during seven strike days. Affected by these cancellations were approximately 550,000 passengers.

Due to the strike actions Lufthansa has to cancel 126 long-haul and 10 continental connections resulting in about 27.300 passengers being affected by flight cancelations. Nearly all German and European continental flights will be operated as scheduled.

LH usually rebooks to other LH Group carriers, any star alliance carrier or other IATA airline it has an interline agreement with. The preference to do so is in the same order and done only if the preferred alternative doesn't have any free seats in the class of service (not booking class). Award bookings are treated the same way, although you may be requested to contact the issuing carrier for reissuing the ticket. LH issued tickets are usually reissued using the ATC irreg system.

Hi Guys i think im the first victim of the Lufthansa flight attendant strike, my flight from PVG to FRA LH729 on the 29 of June has been canceled, i asked them what the problem was and they didn't tell me, so i think it is because of the strike ... they rescheduled my flight PVG SIN FRA, im losing a night I had booked and paid for in Hilton Hotel that cannot be cancelled. So i don't know what I should do about that night, do you think I can ask Lufthansa for a refund?

Not to mention the plane could turn and be back in DE before the strikes and not stuck at an outstation.
Flying F at the end of the month. I do now want to be put on UA (ticketing carrier) but in order of preference I would take

How can this be related to any possible strike when the earliest date of a strike is 1st July? I doubt LH will pay for your non-refundable reservation at the Hilton but you may be eligible for EU261 compensation for a cancellation within two weeks of departure and a delayed arrival (not due to a strike).
However, LH729 on 29 June is still listed on ExpertFlyer and LH.com is selling tickets on this flight.

Sorry, my Bad. I got the dates confused, my flight that was cancelled was to leave on the 28 and arrive on the 29th.

Incidentally LH729 departs PVG at 13:15 and arrives in FRA at 19:10 on the same day. LH933 departs at 23:35 and arrives in FRA at 05:20 the following morning.

Did you insisted on flying this (lengthy) rerouting? There were plenty of choices for same day departure /arrival options. Of course flying SQ is much better than LH and you might get extra miles out of it.. if there was same day travel (via PEK or HKG?) available I doubt they will give you anything if you intentionally had yourself rebooked via SIN.. (Did they offer you choices?)

Oy. My father and I got caught in the pilot strike last year flying IAH-BOM, but we were able to rebook on TK and kept our C seats. Now my wife and 4 year old son are doing BOM-MUC-IAH on July 14. Good thing that MUC-IAH is on UA (those are not words I expected to type), but it's on UA ticket stock. I'm not sure who will handle the rebooking if there's a strike that day? UA as the ticketing carrier or LH as the initial operating carrier?

Is there any word on the negotiations and the possible upcoming Flight Attendant Strike? I'm booked in a PE seat from JNB-FRA-IAD on 6 July, and need to be there for an important meeting. Just wondering if I should sit tight, or rebook with another airline? I got caught a couple of times stranded due to the pilot's strike last year, and can't risk that for this meeting. Any suggestions or insights?
Just did a r/t on LH in the past few days (paid biz, bad move for me) and besides the intra-Europe hopeless FAs (they must be indoctrinating clueless characters as FAs) - the older pursers and FAs are really serious about LH's refusal to honor the contract that was signed by LH management.
(I was going to start pointing out their errors in flight, but decided not to - as it's not up to me to carry out protocol enforcement)
That, in addition to hopeless baggage handling at FRA making me almost miss my flight and not allowing me to shop at FRA as planned makes me wish to reinitiate my boycott of LH. (Did not fly LH for 3.5 years)
Together with the pilots probably striking at the end of the month (now), flight disruptions are a very significant risk.
Book on Swiss if you bank to M&M (which I do not) or another airline for safety.

So I booked a United award flight that is on Lufthansa. I have both a United confirmation number and a Lufthansa confirmation number. If something goes bad due to the strike, I theoretically should be able to deal with either airline to get rebooked?
