If and when a particular strike begins and flights are actually beginning to be cancelled, you can call LH and ask for a rebooking/rerouting.
LH usually rebooks to other LH Group carriers, any star alliance carrier or other IATA airline it has an interline agreement with. The preference to do so is in the same order and done only if the preferred alternative doesn't have any free seats in the class of service (not booking class). Award bookings are treated the same way, although you may be requested to contact the issuing carrier for reissuing the ticket. LH issued tickets are usually reissued using the ATC irreg system.

Against the background of the announced strike by the Independent Flight Attendant’s Organization (UFO) on Lufthansa flights on Thursday 26th of November, Friday, 27th of November and Monday, 30 of November 2015, Lufthansa is trying to keep the effect of the strike on its customers as low as possible.

Lufthansa returns to almost normal operations from Saturday onwards

After the end of the longest strike in the company’s history, Lufthansa will already return to almost normal operations on Saturday and will offer its customers the usual service as soon as possible.
All scheduled long-haul connections will be able to operate on Saturday. Furthermore the long-haul connections from Frankfurt to Hong Kong, Singapore, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo, which were scheduled to take off on late Friday evening, will be delayed to Saturday morning. Thus a cancellation of these connections can be avoided.
Lufthansa will also return to almost normal operations on short- and medium-haul flights on Saturday. Due to operational reasons, there can be occasional flight cancellations, if the aircraft or crews are not yet at the site of operation.
Lufthansa would like to sincerely apologize again to all customers, who have been affected by the strike of the Independent Flight Attendant’s Union (UFO) during the past days. The company has done its utmost to keep the effects on their customers as low as possible.
Altogether the company was forced to cancel approximately 4,700 flights during seven strike days. Affected by these cancellations were approximately 550,000 passengers.

Due to the strike actions Lufthansa has to cancel 126 long-haul and 10 continental connections resulting in about 27.300 passengers being affected by flight cancelations. Nearly all German and European continental flights will be operated as scheduled.

LH usually rebooks to other LH Group carriers, any star alliance carrier or other IATA airline it has an interline agreement with. The preference to do so is in the same order and done only if the preferred alternative doesn't have any free seats in the class of service (not booking class). Award bookings are treated the same way, although you may be requested to contact the issuing carrier for reissuing the ticket. LH issued tickets are usually reissued using the ATC irreg system.

They only gave a time frame of "It will be decided by the end of this year"......they have 6 cases pending - no word on what the order is and what number the VC case has.

I wanted to update the thread on where I stand on my claim for compensation for my flight being cancelled during last November's industrial action 1) as a data point for others with outstanding claims and 2) to get the opinion on this forum as to whether I should accept.
In June I booked a flight using 22000 miles to travel business class from Manchester to Belgrade via Munich in November. Taxes I am unsure of as I don't have access to statements that old to hand, however doing a dummy run on the Lufthansa website they appear to be about £118. I shall therefore work with this £118 figure.
In exchange for writing off the taxes and miles for my redemption I requested the following compensation.
£358 for the cost of a last minute flight in Economy using flybe and Air Serbia - the flight actually got me to my destination 4 hours earlier which was a bonus.
£100 compensation for the downgrade from Business to Economy (priced up using the difference in Biz to Eco flights for that route on the Lufthansa website for this route)
£90 cost of the hotel I had to book at Manchester airport because the earlier flight meant I could not get to the airport using public transport in time for check in for the earlier flight.
£24 cost of the train to Manchester Airport the night before (I had to discard the train ticket I'd already booked for the original flight)
In total I asked for £572 compensation.
I have been offered:
£214 to cover the hotel, train ticket and downgrade compensation plus as I understand it the taxes and miles back from my original booking.
I'm therefore £358 down from the flight. A flight can be bought for about £200 several months out so I am having to take the hit on buying tickets at short notice.
Here is the offer, I'd be grateful for your thoughts:
After considering your additional costs we would like to partially reimburse you in the amount of GBP214.43 as an ex-gratia solution. Please note that the bank transfer may take several days to complete.
Full reimbursement of your costs is not possible due to legal regulations/obligations; therefore we have not reimbursed the cost of your additional flights. However, we have initiated a ticket refund. As soon as the refund calculation is available, our employees for ticket refund will inform you about the amount of refund and form of payment.
