Hi Starbuk, you could do both, i.e. make a bid and, if you do not win, request a paid upgrade at check-in. Regards

We are in K economy and hoping to pay for an upgrade to business somehow.
K is el-cheap Economy class.
You want a double-upgrade, not just to Y+ but to C.
I assume an upgrade vom el-cheapo K to C will be quite pricey.

Paid upgrades into C are not posible on K, L, T, X fares.
On a K fare you can only pay for an upgrade to Y+ or use the bidding (for either Y+ or C)

Yes, it was so cheap that we didn't care about flying in coach.. but an upgrade might be worthwhile as we get closer to the flight.

I have a few flights with LH in early Jan 2017-

HKG-MUC: PE to C, fare class N: bid range: USD690 to 1190
MUC-TXL: Eco to C, fare class Y: bid range: USD50 to 170
TXL-FRA: Eco to C, fare class Y: bid range: USD50 to 170

For HKG-MUC, I am planning to bid min USD690. Expertflyer seat map shows 26 (out of 56) empty C seats (not a meaningful indication I know). Any advice?

Upgrade bidding First time

I am new to this airline. Just booked two premium economy tickets for late next year. Would like to put in an offer for business. Under my bookings, nothing shows for making an offer to business. If I use a link I found on the internet to my offers, I can get to my booking but I am not sure if upgrading means they are going to charge me the business price rather than letting me bid for an upgrade.

I got as far as the question stating" I am authorized to upgrade all passengers.

Any help is appreciated

It was regularly offered to me the weeks closing in to the flight.

I'd not go for it though. LH Biz isn't a good product and lowest bids ranged between EUR350 to 680 ... with the miles still being awarded for PE.

PE is quite solid and I'd make no upgrade offer from there.

Depends on the person but for a great many you are likely right.

For those who enjoy flying C, the "Myoffer Plusgrade" offers the possibility travel in C at a rate lower than the discounted P.

Of course it should be lower. It is not guaranteed, the price can vary, and it comes with the cursed miles from the coach product you purchased.

Business P gives 100% while Prem. Eco E gives 150%. That's alright
