Garbage service in business Denver to FRA

The GF and I were flying LH447 and upgrades to upper deck F seats last minute at the gate. Got seated and the FA asked us why we were sitting there. She wasn't happy with us up there. Later on the purser asked what we were doing. Mind you the GA escorted us on and let the crew know we were upstairs. The purser was pissed and said we didn't belong there mad our flight very awkward. I asked if she resolved it an hour later she said no. She told us that someone took our seats downstairs and we might have to be reaccomodated. We kept our seats. Our service was not by any means nice. All the other pax were treated with regard. We were not treated well at all. We dressed we'll have high end luggage etc. it's not like we looked like bums or anything. We wanted to get off the plane , but it was too late. I know LH could care less. It's just a shame to think that we bothe agreed that United would have been better than LH. I'm just glad I dumped my LH miles last year.

Hm, very strange. If you have an F BP you should have gotten F service. Opup or not.

I think it was C service in F seat, judging by the plane and route.

Very strange behaviour of the crew.

From the purser's explanation... They only expected 5 pax on the UD, and they didn't have the manpower for two more pax up there... Amazing.. Yes this was F seats C service.. At the end of the day we got our food, and drinks... Just cold horrible treatment from the purser.. Funny thing was.... Middle of the flight we had two younger FA's upstairs taking over for our FA... They were nice, and friendly.. Too bad the only interaction we had was a can of coke..

I think it was a bad day to fly.. We started in ASE (in F) and the FA on that flight told everyone in F no drinks...

Luck of the draw, unfortunately. Looks like you got both a FA and a purser on their "off day". About a month ago I flew FRA-DEN (LH446) in 82H, and all 8 pax received excellent C service from the sole FA working the UD.

ASE to DEN is a short flight and it is common on UA to not do a drink service even in F. It is UA, after all, so make sure to have the proper expectations

still sounds more like "bad day" as it seems pretty odd, that they would be unable to provide C Service for 7 guests...

Sounds like they wanted to seat someone else there.

Actually we fly that Aspen route often. Most times the captains instruct cabin crew to remain seated due to turbulence over the mountains. So I think United Express just stopped catering drinks since they never got served. You are right that United and United Express are mostly awful but in this case I think it's just circumstances.

Come on, there are only six F seats on a CR7. Serve drinks at the gate if it's going to be too bumpy during the fight.

LAX-SBA is supposed to be too short for service but a good FA will offer water bottles as a nice gesture.

What were you expecting? Were you expected to be treated like a VIP. Did you expect the flight attendant to come around every 30 seconds and fill up your drink? Did you even try to be nice to the flight attendants?

I've flown in Economy Class and have been treated better than you were treated. A Bitte and Danke go a long way. I know people have their off days but I wonder what made them "single" you out.

Perhaps there is something the OP is leaving out. I've flown in the Premium Cabin and not one flight attendant singled me out.

Now if the Gate Agent sat you upstairs there should have been a reflection of this on the manifest. If the Gate Agent approved it then why should the flight attendants have a problem.

I see. That will of course exclude the possibility that it happens to others...

I don't understand your logic and the reason why you attempt to blame the OP. The purser obviously was pi**ed because he didn't think the OP should be sitting there. He pretty much said so himself.

Exactly. But obviously they did have a problem with it, and therefore it must have been something the OP did

Germans get very nervous if things do not go exactly as they have been told before. Maybe they were told to expect only 5 pax, had organized food and drink accordingly. Then all of their great planning and organization was upset by the arrival of two new pax. Response: blame the intruders. No excuse for that, just trying to give a cultural explanation. As you might know, Germans are not exactly known for flexibility, more for rules!
