CM is the one with the heavy landing in 2016. CN is the last MD11 ever built.

With D-AIPB hitting the 30 yr mark and its upcoming retirement (according to https://sites.google.com/site/lhgroupfleet/lufthansa) how does LH plan to replace this bird and the other D-AIPx frames? Nearly all recent 320 CEO and all NEOs went to FRA. Is the winter schedule thinned out that much that the remaining A/C can fly it (while there are still quite a few planes scheduled for repainting over the winter) or will some CEOs or even the old D-AIQx 320s passed on from FRA to MUC?

The A320 ceo move to MUC whenever FRA gets new aircraft. This month A320 QF, QU, QW, ZG und ZI move to MUC.

If you look at the B737/A32S fleet stationed at FRA & MUC in 2013 and 2019 the fleet in FRA has remained constant about ~110 aircraft and MUC went from ~50 to ~70. At the same time the RJ (CR7/ATR/CR9/E19x) fleet in MUC went from ~60 to ~40 today.

In 2021-22 LH will begin to get A320neo with the CFM Leap (the current deliveries are PW) maybe the neo will then come to MUC too.

I was on an A320 flight during the first month they showed up at LH. What a fine plane it was back then, compared to the 727‘s that still flew a lot of German and European routes...

I wasn't even born then.
Puts the question of how old is too old into perspective.

It seems I have to correct myself. D-AINR/T/U/W/X are moving to MUC starting Dec 29. MUC will have about 6 neos stationed in MUC.

MB (A388) and HD (A346) are now parked in FRA. This is a measure decided in the early phase of Covid19 when the flights to China were cancelled.
