Yes, if you can recall, on my advice someone ask for a change from CPH (DK) to MMX (SE). AMS could be moved to HAM/FRA/DUS.

Thanks for that Oliver2002.
I was in discussion with an LX agent yesterday and they had not heard of the rule. |
No, that will most likely be an issue - I assume very few agents have heard /are familiar with this rule.
It is the first time I hear about it. It is very generous indeed; almost too good to be true. |
I've used it a few times, once being when Eurowings cancelled DUS-ZRH and I asked if I could be rerouted to GVA instead of ZRH. I bought DUS-ZRH because it was so cheap (unlike GVA, which is where I really wanted to go) and I planned on taking the train down from Zurich with my GA. It was done immediately with a smile. Arrived in Geneva at about the same time as the train would have arrived, because I had to wait a bit for the flight to GVA.

Just to clarify, that's an LH Group internal rule, not something *A/IATA/…-related, right?
|
Its from a IATA irreg procedure guideline which the airlines adopt/modify for their needs.
