Dogs allowed in the First Class Terminal. Seriously?

The other day while reading a trip report, I came across a rather interesting picture from the FCT, showing a woman in one of the lounge chairs, with her dog lying beside her on the floor.

While the concept of traveling with your pet is known to most of us, but bringing your pet to the lounge is a new one for me. Are passengers really allowed to bring along their pets to the lounges?

With regards to people who are allergic to dogs, do Lufthansa have any policy if sanitizing the area after the dog's visit?

aahh... its been a while since we had a 'dog in F' thread...

This one is my favorite (a man with two pitbull-rottweiler mix dogs as support animals):

I watched a small dog "pinkel" in the middle of the main concourse in HAM today. The owner just left the puddle there...

Hopefully it's just summertime, but had (four legged) dogs in the front cabin on two AA flights in the last two weeks.

I've only had a few dogs, and only one that ever traveled with me. She only flew F (sad to say, I myself have been relegated to C and Y over the years ). When I visited US or international lounges, she came into the lounge with me. However, she stayed in her carrying case at all times, on the ground and on board the aircraft.

Did they sanitize the dogified area afterward?

I guess if the canine was in their appropriate containment, then there is no issue. If a dog roams an area where people sit and eat .. then that's the issue.

+1 on that, most German restaurants allow guests to bring their dog along. If the dog is behaved, it shouldn't really matter. Sort of like kids...

If the rest of us want to be around animals, we will go to a farm.

Personally I'd rather have a dog in the FCT than badly behaving kids.
