Carsten Spohr on LH1011 today - had I recognised him a bit earlier, I should perhaps have asked how they dare to serve the undrinkable Duc de Chérence (“boisson aromatisée à base de vin”) at The Loft... retails at 6 euros a bottle, but is more suitable for industrial use. Not a good outstation start of a First class journey.

Transfer to FCL B worked well - got my meal, my bubbles and my duck (black standard FCT). Thanks for the advise offered through the forum earlier in the week.

We could have given you a looong list of things to ask CS but at least you were guaranteed a meal in J on BRU-FRA

So, no more Spa or Dim Sum Ducks in FRA ?

I’m sure you could! The meal was the cold chicken fruit salad combo, but neither of us had it. Surprise, surprise, they also served drinks and the small Prince cookie kit in Y. LSG must have been compassionate for the occasion...

I didn’t probe for a special duck, I merely asked for one and the black FCT is what I got. But it’s my first, so I’m still happy.

Very wise of both you & CS to avoid that ‘Chicken salad delicacy ‘ Frankly a Kitkat is more appealing...

Your First Duck, congratulations again, but beware, collecting them can become addictive & it’s certainly challenging !

Strange that you didn’t receive one of the special ducks at the FCL B but then again the whole duck thing is unpredictable unfortunately.

Probably not so much of a surprise that the flight carrying CS was catered. He will shortly step in front of a camera and say he personally checked that all is back to normal ...

3 excellent Champagnes on one flight, fantastic that they keep doing this & what an improvement over some of the previous massive disappointments , without mentioning specific brands
