I don't see any reference to LH loading Cristal over the December holiday period. I had it both ways last year SEA-FRA and FRA-DEN. It was fantastic!

I was told by the purser (as they were pouring it) they load one bottle each direction from roughly December 15th to January 1st. It can either be poured as PDB or first drink after departure and it is the pursers discretion.

SEA-FRA it was our PDB, and FRA-DEN (where they made a much bigger deal about it because it was New Years Day) it was poured after take off.

Thanks so much, that's very interesting to know!! Am wondering whether it is worth going out of my way to fly LH F during that period for the Cristal (have never had it, as it's above my price range for Champagne I'd purchase on the ground). I do need to fly from the EU to the US during that period of time, but if I did this I'd have to deplete all my UA miles for the LH F redemption! I flew LH F for the first time last month and I very much enjoyed the Laurent-Perrier Grand Siecle...

I flew to EZE in F with my wife on Christmas day and no one offered Christal . The wines were also totally underperforming. I had called LH a week before the flight if they could do anything special as the flight was on Christmas. They failed.
Maybe the 2 HON onboard drunk it and left nothing to the poor SENs .

Just learned from a friend of mine who flew LH F JFK-MUC last December that she was served Cristal Rose after takeoff... That's VERY impressive!

Doing my first LH F in a week, and apparently they now serve 2007 Taittinger Millessime. Massive disappointment

Unless they change their current offering you'll get 2007 Taittinger Millésime.

I wish they would. That really is an embarrassing Champagne in F. Heck, BA serves that in their Lounges...

Had that one in May MEX-MUC. They ran out of it and the Business Class champagne tasted better...

Yes, but LPGS is served in lounges where you need to be a big dogg to get in. Taittinger 2007 is in the semi-pleb lounge. It's a boring and not-too-tasty bulk champagne costing around 50 per bottle. A far cry from what others serve in First.
Oh well, at least they still have caviar

The Taittinger 2007 is a pretty underwhelming compared to the 2006 Comptes de Champagne in the previous F wine list... Go for the current riesling!

Good advice! ^
I went even further and traded the Taittinger for a Hefeweizen...
