http://flightaware.com/live/flight/D...243Z/KOAK/KSFO

The A380 - now used for local commuter traffic!!!

PS - I'm aware this was caused by the OZ214 crash at SFO earlier today.

I think the shortest filed flight plan of the A380 was MUC-OBF for the 99€ alpenrundflug in spring 2010.

That indeed is quite short.

I thought the initial flights by AF from LHR to CDG were also a touch on the short side.

OAK-SFO is 11 miles but the aircraft actually flew 79 miles in 20 mins according to flightaware. Interestingly LH454 landed on Runway 1/19 at SFO which is normally used by narrow bodies and took off later from 1R. There was some speculation in the OZ214 thread whether an A380 could have taken off from this runway with enough fuel to reach FRA non-stop (it actually did).

Must have been good sightseeing if you were on the right side.

What's interesting is that the KLM 744 took a much shorter route:

I believe passengers went through immigration and customs in OAK.
