The Verdi press release can be found here: http://www.verdi.de/presse/pressemit...b-0019b9e321cb

In Nuremberg the walkout will be limited to the morning hours, in Berlin the walkout will stop at 14:30. For what it's worth, I don't think that will help anything, though.

Is this going to affect MUC/FRA? I was planning to transit both these airports...

(According to the statement, it appears so...alternatives to be checked now...grrr...)

Most certainly! There will be strikes in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart, Hannover, Düsseldorf, Cologne and Norderstedt the entire day. This is also why I meant that the fact that walkouts in Nuremberg and Berlin are only temporary is of no help at all.

I can fly right past Germany on the Nonstop U... (UA)

Auch billiger!

Edited to Add:

Grrr - I even saw R / I-class space on UA, and now it's *gone*!

Lufthansa upsets their shareholders, their passangers and their employees

Heard from a friend, that Friday could be the next strike day just before the next gathering between LH and Verdi on Monday 29th.

Not only by strikes being allowed to occur - also with their other moves to cut our benefits...

The contingency plan and wording of the official policy for rebookings is being drafted as we speak (or post). I will add it to the this thread as soon as I get it.
