yes , they will offer you to upgrade during web check-in ..the prices is around 599-699eur (not sure though) ..check if business class is still for sale on your flight..if they got free seats , they will offer the redupgrade during OLCI

I put in a bid for €450 IAD-VIE and checked the seatmap on expert flyer and saw that Business class had 16 open seats so I was feeling good about my chance. It's now 70 hours before my flight and I haven't received any emails yet but when I go to the smart upgrade site to check on the status it says "upgrade unavailable"
Does that mean I was rejected ?

On same flight, so presumably they just had 1 seat left, or higher offers above €407 for the other available ones. Quite a few empty seats anyway though.
Just a question: Why are there no Wiki entries for VIE-NRT or NRT-VIE? Is Smart Upgrade not offered on that leg or is it just that nobody from FT has done that segment on Austrian?

flight was quite full, but still two free seats in C. Rejection email came quite late (48h before flight), as compared to my previous experience.
