Yes, but it's fun and we are not writing doctoral theses here...
Of course we are amateurs. I am sure the professionals of the aviation industry maintain their own fora with higher levels of rationalisation.
For what it's worth, I would find an LH Direct to PTY flight quite charming, as well.

That's my point. And as always: No offense. Just discussion.

I propose a ACH - CVG, as nobody serves this route so far.
Best equipment would be a 747-400 with the upper deck F class^
Oh, we need to build a runway into the lake of constance, should be doable if we dump all the nonsense of this thread there.

YYC - FRA vv. has always been AC territory, LH's flight provided additional capacity. I could see this coming back at least as a seasonal operation.

The LH flight was cancelled as demand was lower than originally projected. Personally I think the AC flight stayed a lot more popular at the time as there were many people from the oil fields who were allowed to fly on high Y fare tickets which they could upgrade quite easily with their Air Canada (paper) vouchers at the time and could not upgrade at all on LH. This tended to leave a lot of the higher fare (economy anyway) business with AC and LH had loads in the summer when fares were much more price sensitive.
Besides- now they would have to compete with Air Berlin which would be tough for LH

I personally hope and see the chance of FRA-YYC returning once LH have the appropriate aircraft for that route, not the gas guzzler A343 they used to fly there...

Which - if it was the case - would not have mattered at all, as AC and LH are both members of the atlantic revenue sharing joint venture, see e.g. http://www.airlinepilotforums.com/ma...ir-canada.html
For example, some of the feeder LH flights are only available with higher fare classes when combined with AC/UA across the pond, and widely available with LH longhaul.
