Of course we are amateurs. I am sure the professionals of the aviation industry maintain their own fora with higher levels of rationalisation.

For what it's worth, I would find an LH Direct to PTY flight quite charming, as well.
To go along with the new 10x daily nonstop DRS-SJC service on A388s, no doubt.

Agreed, but then again there is a huge quality difference between an educated amateur speculation (which I like and appreciate) and just uttering some thin-air self-made wild speculation that lacks any foundation and substance. (For a prime example, see post 35 of this thread.)

That's my point. And as always: No offense. Just discussion.

I propose a ACH - CVG, as nobody serves this route so far.
Best equipment would be a 747-400 with the upper deck F class^

Oh, we need to build a runway into the lake of constance, should be doable if we dump all the nonsense of this thread there.

I believe TLV-IKA operated by LH 747-8 would be a good idea.

Nah, there will be too much competition on that route soon with F16s flying multiple times a day.

If you watch james bond's diamonds are forever movie.
You'll see he takes a direct lufthansa flight between AMS-LAX.....

YYC wont happen. It's an AC route now.
YYC - FRA vv. has always been AC territory, LH's flight provided additional capacity. I could see this coming back at least as a seasonal operation.

I used to fly somewhat regularly on YYC/FRA with first AC and later LH.

The LH flight was cancelled as demand was lower than originally projected. Personally I think the AC flight stayed a lot more popular at the time as there were many people from the oil fields who were allowed to fly on high Y fare tickets which they could upgrade quite easily with their Air Canada (paper) vouchers at the time and could not upgrade at all on LH. This tended to leave a lot of the higher fare (economy anyway) business with AC and LH had loads in the summer when fares were much more price sensitive.

Besides- now they would have to compete with Air Berlin which would be tough for LH

Which - if it was the case - would not have mattered at all, as AC and LH are both members of the atlantic revenue sharing joint venture, see e.g. http://www.airlinepilotforums.com/ma...ir-canada.html

I personally hope and see the chance of FRA-YYC returning once LH have the appropriate aircraft for that route, not the gas guzzler A343 they used to fly there...

Which was the regular routing back then, flown by B707 FRA-AMS-LAX.

I'm sure they have some compensation algorithm in place as well.
For example, some of the feeder LH flights are only available with higher fare classes when combined with AC/UA across the pond, and widely available with LH longhaul.

Might we see the return of MUC-SIN if LH find that the new LX flight is sustaining itself with premium banking traffic?
