D-ABYC didn't quite make the delivery deadline of 30 June 2012 and left PAE at 02:01 PDT on 1 July 2012. :D ETA in FRA is 19:52. It's amazing how fast an almost empty plane can fly. ;)

I'd say it's the tailwind rather than the weight of the plane. According to flightaware they're doing 520kts, which is not really unusual IMHO. Regardless of the speed, good news definitely! ^

I was comparing with the flight time of A333 between SEA and FRA. :)

Matrix claims 10h10, how long does it take usually in reality? Never had the opportunity.

SFO-FRA is in the 10 hr 20 min range. On the A380, which was doing about 580 kts at the end as the tanks emptied and the weight decreased.

I once flew the route on the A333 and it took 9h37 according to flightstats. Yesterday's LH491 took 9h40. D-ABYC might do it in 8h51 according to flightaware.

It looks like she made it in just under 9 hrs! ^

I like the fact that they did not use D-ABYB. Fitting memorial to the 747-100 lost in 1974 in Nairobi.

4 & 5 in late sept/early oct, and they should be on LAX and ORD. But these things are subject to change.

Hmm, the image of FRA doesn't even show the new runway yet(07L/25R)!

Could lead to quite funny picture of planes landing in the middle of nowhere :p

Well, they use standard Gooogle imagery, so until Google updates it, 07L/25R will be missing... Till then, happy crash landings :-)
