Looks like 747-8i #2 D-ABYC heads for home tonight...
Twitter message from Paine:
Paine Tower is staying open late for the Lufthansa 747-8i delivery flight LH9875 scheduled to depart at 12:11 Pacific Daylight time for FRA http://flightaware.com/live/flight/D...701Z/KPAE/EDDF |
ETD seems to be 12:11 PDT

D-ABYC didn't quite make the delivery deadline of 30 June 2012 and left PAE at 02:01 PDT on 1 July 2012. :D ETA in FRA is 19:52. It's amazing how fast an almost empty plane can fly. ;)

I'd say it's the tailwind rather than the weight of the plane. According to flightaware they're doing 520kts, which is not really unusual IMHO. Regardless of the speed, good news definitely! ^

I was comparing with the flight time of A333 between SEA and FRA. :)

I like the fact that they did not use D-ABYB. Fitting memorial to the 747-100 lost in 1974 in Nairobi.

do we know when is the next one due?
4 & 5 in late sept/early oct, and they should be on LAX and ORD. But these things are subject to change. |
