You can do a rough check here: http://www.lufthansa.com/de/en/First-Class-Product

Is the general consensus that it's not worth the points/$ to go business class with old seats?

If you're happy in coach, then go for it. I doubt, though, there is "consensus" the upgrade isn't worth it!

Point taken. I was only able to find less than favorable reviews of the old but in retrospect those reviews were probably comparing it to the new business not the old economy.

Did all this ever get sorted out?

I'm flying MUC-ORD on LH434 on Dec 4. The Business cabin shows rows 3-14, Y begins at 20, and there are no center seats in 27.

So, I'm assuming this is new config, but does LH actually pull out 2 rows of C and replace them with Y seasonally, or are there some A333s floating around with this config as their normal layout. SeatGuru only shows 2 versions, both with C as 3-16.

When you are planning to upgrade from Economy, you should still chose the airline that gives you the best Biz product. LH is certainly on par with AF and ways behind everyone else.

Don't focus on the rows in C so much, the key is the missing row 27 seat and 193 viz 161 seats in Y instead of 197/165. That reveals the new C in a A330.

I'm on LH435 ORD-MUC at the end of October. Where do I see a seat map for that date. If I log in with my record locator it doesn't show me the map/ Any ideas? Thanks.

Just do a dummy booking on lufthansa.com. Select the flight, enter a random first and last name and on the following screen you will be able to pull up the seat map.

Just did a dummy booking and the four middle seats in row 27 are missing. There are just two by each window. So I can assume it's the new business class. Fingers crossed.

As to the forward biz mini cabin, is either row better than the other? Seat Guru notes that row 3 has no floor storage space, but that's it.

But row 4 is close to the galley or lavatories. I prefer row 3.
