EDIT: July 1st shows as a 330 as well on LH's site. Where are you seeing 748?
There are two daily LH flights IAD/FRA. 416/417 are on A330, 418/419 are on B747-800.

I booked two C award tickets for two friends of mine months ago for the end of June. One of them is on LH 417 and the other one is on LH 419. One of them will be very jealous. I myself will be on SQ 25 JFK/FRA on A380 C class. So I'm happy and not too jealous.

30 persons got the whole plane to themselves?

whaaaaaa!!!!! I envy that!!!

I bet they could sit anywhere they wanted

one hour here
the next hour there

big seat
upstairs

small seat
downstairs

even bigger seat
in the nose of the plane
sit down or bed

a visit to the flight deck
outside territorial waters

and more even

Interesting to see it confirmed that on the 748i all C seats are /\ /\ (uppder deck) or /\ / \ /\ (lower deck) and on the 333 they are \\ /\ // as previously reported by [B]hamallu

Also looks like the center isle seats are more separated as per previous photos.

Is Lufthansa using Hawker-Siddeley 748?

All best seats already gone. Flight is booking quite fast. Window seats are disappearing quite fast - I am talking about whY Class.

Those here who will be on the flights better do their seat selection ASAP.

Not sure if some rows of seats are blocked until -24 hours for the two flights.
Indeed, there are quite a few Blocked Seats in Y & C:

I am a total ignoramus as to these. Sort of looks like ASCII codes to me.

Maybe you can help by telling me which rows are blocked?

I can call on my high-end Lufthansa friends to unblock me one of these best seats in Y for my 1 June FRA-IAD-FRA inaugurals turnaround when the time comes.

I'll be many hours inside this wondrous flying machine known as D-ABYA (Da Big Bee) so I want to try to be as comfy as can be getting the best Y seats in the house.

Where is the extensive marketing for the new Business Class seat?

Thanks, Oliver2002 for posting the seat map.

Just one question remaining: Where is the extensive marketing for the new seat?

They should communicate the new layout especially on the main deck of the B747-800 where the 7th seat is now history and the personal space for every passenger is larger than on any aircraft of the Lufthansa fleet. ^

AFAIK they have an extensive campaign planned including a 20-30 sec TV ad, but they are waiting with the promotion till the seat is actually available on some routes, else the hue and cry of false advertising will not subside

Great photos!

Do you know which row in the 748 is the one shown in economy at the emergency exit (photos 62 - 65 in the Picasa gallery above)? This looks very much like row 75/76 on the 388, and seems like reasonable place to be if one is stuck in Y, as I am on occasion (especially the window seat with no seat in front)...

Checking against the seatmap posted in #224, they look like seats in row 21.

62 - 21B/C
64 - 21H
65 - 21H/J
