In the current Lufthansa in-flight magazine, the text and photography leads its readers to clearly assume that LH's new business class is business class throughout LH; there's nothing in the text stating that new business class is only fitted into certain LH aircraft or that there's any rollout period.
On the LH website there is an asterisk and a footnote clarifying rollout.
https://www.lufthansa.com/online/myp...en&cid=1000390
In the LH in-flight magazine there is no such asterisk and/or footnote.
When calling the Lufthansa North America call center, you're told that the A380 has "new business class". Really? Are you sure? After lengthy searching of tail numbers, it's determined that the A380 doesn't have "new business class"; it actually has a "newer business class", a version of business class between the "old business class" and "new business class". This newer (but not "new") business class has the earphone jack in a higher spot inside the compartment and different galley curtains and larger overhead storage, etc. Callers are told however that it's "new business class".
The magazine article seems to be a case of Lufthansa hoping for flyers to assume "new business class" everywhere and buy at least one C ticket based on misleading info; afterall, what grounds would anyone have to argue they didn't get "new business class"? None.
A (new) low in Lufthansa's misleading, overmarketing nonsense.

The best bet is to just fly LX and get the better products and services.

Which seat location are best on the Lufthansa 747-8i in business class? Seat Guru shows the width of the seats being 19 to 23 inches. Which seats are the widest? Is the upper deck better than the main deck?

Only fact is that with window seat selection you might have to "climb" over the aisle neighbour.. as the aisle guy you have sbdy climbing over you..
My choice is the lower deck, middle row.. undisturbed and not as narrow as the upper deck..

340-300 already refurbished?
The LH seat maps show one of the three 343 versions to be equipped with the new business class seats. Is this correct? If so, on which route would this aircraft be employed? Thanks, ps

No 343 has the new Business seats. Retrofitting will not start until Winter 12/13.

I do find it quite annoying then that Lufthansa is overpromising: http://www.lufthansa.com/mediapool/p...1826934900.pdf. The same goes for pictures in their "Hotel Business Class" minisite of amenities that are not/not yet available and the Business Class website http://www.lufthansa.com/de/de/Business-Class that shows pictures of the new C only even though less than 5% of planes have been fitted. Little wonder people are disappointed if LH builds up expectations that aren't met. I wish they'd be as clear about their seats as Singapore Airlines are on their website.

Finally second 748 bird in action. Looks like D-ABYC made its first revenue flights today. FRA-IAD and back.

The most noticeable of which to pax and really only to those that have already flown on the 74H would be the deactivation of the auto toilet seat/lid mechanism as it's operating cycle interferes with cleaning and maintenance operations. But don't worry, this nifty new convenient and hygienic feature will return once Boeing provides a fix.

Yes indeed it's been pulled into service ahead of starting flights to DEL on 01AUG12 as D-ABYA is down for some modifications, which is usual for a new type of aircraft since you learn from in-service issues that cannot be simulated prior to line flying.

Man, seeing one day of your work would be of great interest to 99,5% of all Flyertalkers. On the one hand, I am tempted to suggest a Flyertalk DO in Malta to meet you, on the other hand, I think we "benefit" better from you if it isn't all to clear to LH who hamallu really is.
