LH will keep two 747 with old First in service this summer as spares. They will limit the rotation of the two birds to DEN, EWR and India and the board expects that those two birds are used on less than 10% of those flights.

Chances of new First - A346??

Flying from EWR-Munich on a A346, what are the chances of getting the new F? What percentage of the those aircraft have been outfitted?

Thanks!

Is the LH F tool still accurate? All my flights out of MUC are suddenly in OLD F...

D-AIGU with new F was ferried to FRA before/during the strike. Was a nice surprise to have an A343 with new F ex FRA.

That is wonderful news. I have a return flight from FRA-MCO that was rescheduled from a 744 to an A343 July 20th. Hoping I get one of the two A343's with New First.

You mean those of us in YVR will be spared TH and TF now?

Ooops... there they go to YVR, GRU, JFK, and YYZ as well! That's LH for you! (First world problems)

I am on FRA-YVR in F on Apr 18. The tool says old F! For most days around it says new F, some days are old F. Does it mean LH actually plans to use the old planes as a regular occurence, and not just as spares?

Look at the flight history of D-ABTF and D-ABTH in the sticky on page 1 and you tell me Looks like regularly scheduled rotations for now (until the rest of the B748s arrive I guess) to me...

TF & TH will continue to stay in the fleet till Winter14-15 because of the ongoing 748 engine restrictions and the upcoming new C retrofit on the 744s coupled with E retrofit on the 748 starting in late September / early October. These two are the spares that are deployed when things go bad, like the GRU sometime ago when D-ABYA or YC had problems with the flaps and a lot of thunstorm cells were expected enroute.

LH F tool shows 744 with old F on FRA-YVR on the following dates in April:

8 10 12 14 18 20 22 25 27 29

Does not look like spares that are deployed when things go bad at all. Looks more like a regularly scheduled rotation. Or is the tool inaccurate?

is it just bad luck on my end, or does new F on the A346 have serious quality issues (still or already)?

on my last 5 flights, on 4 of them, something didn't work on the seat, from non-repairable IFE over backrest being stuck to table stuck (in stowed Position). in most cases, I just got a new seat as F wasn't fully booked most of the times...

the latter (no table) happened just yesterday on a pretty full flight, so I had a "unique" dining experience...
