Apologize if this has been reported elsewhere. We were on the flight yesterday BOM-FRA in first. We were commenting to the lead FA how impressive the seats were (having a dedicated bed) she mentioned that she had just heard the all the 747-400's were going to lose the first class cabin and become Y and J (J upstairs and downstairs) the 747-8 would keep their current config. This just could be galley gossip but thought I'd pass it along.

I guess they did send this plane to celebrate me as a customer who actually really paid money for his seat.

Do the MUC and FRA based A330s with New First have different IFE systems? I just flew a MUC-based a/c (AIKE, I think) and found its interface with a trackball style pointer hard to use.
I flew AIKK out of FRA earlier this year and swear it had the same IFE controller and software as the A380/New 744... Or am I just imagining that?
(Also the F amenity kit was not as nice on the MUC-based flight)

The A330 with retrofitted C have the new RAVE IFE system, the B744, A343 and A330 with new F but old C still have the former eTes and the A380, B748 and four A330 (D-AIKP/Q/R/S) have the Panasonic ex2.

Seattle, Denver, and YVR, seem like a 50/50 propositions at best.
When I check the SEA to FRA it has 2 days new 2-3 days old back and forth. LH is showing the A330 as new and the A340 as old.
How accurate is the LH site (New First)? This site http://www.lufthansa.com/de/en/First-Class-Product
Also, how does the A330 compare vs a Denver/YVR routing of new on a 747-4, if that is possible?
Thanks-

I will be flying before June...but good to know as I have had good success with F out of SEA and the cabin is usually almost empty I just bring my own movies and enjoy old F. The only thing I didn't like as much as departing out of SFO is the 1pm flight time.
If the LH site is accurate you can get YVR through the end of this month on certain days and beginning of May in 747-4 new F. So, if it is accurate the bed option out of YVR would be ^
I would kind of regret going up there for the bed/seat combo and get stuck with old F.
