24 August FRA-KRK from S to C on CRJ7.
The evening before the flight both C and Y were zeroed out accoring to EF but with the seat next to me blocked. On the flight someone was sitting in my old seat (5A) but the seat next to it (5C) appeared to be empty.
It was only a short flight but gave me a chance to sample one of the weird and inedible C meals. But that's for another thread.

Op-up last week on HAM-DUS on an E Class ticket.
Upon boarding with agent saw my status and asked the flight manager next to her: "Are you looking for one more?"
He replied "Yes" and rebooked me on R class (C cabin).
Obviously I was not subject to opup by the system, due to my scum of the earth E class ticket, but due to the frantic situation at boarding and an attentive LH gate agent I got the op up.

Just now - C (C) to (new) F on LH791 SIN-MUC. Have to love that beep at boarding! Just hope I'll not get stuck in MUC tomorrow morning... :-)

10SEP LH1415 ZAG-FRA Y(V) -> C
Flight was heavily overbooked in Y, I saw at least 6 more new boarding passes printed by the time I boarded.
Additionally, service on the flight was AWESOME!!! I have never, ever had such attentive, polite, courteous service, even more with a plane packed full of passengers! I am just about to write a letter of commendation for the purser on lh.com!
OTOH, it was operated by LH mainline, maybe they're now trying extra hard for passengers to love them, so the management will have a harder time negotiating

FRA-YYZ C(Z) to F
initially had no hope as C was wide open even 24h before departure. but Y was heavily overbooked (waitlist monitor at gate C13 showed at least 10 names). Upon boarding the machine spit out the 'upgrade/new seat' paper and I enjoyed seat 1A (old F on A360 though, but service/food and drinks were very good!). There were at least two other lucky ones that got a C-F upgrade and several Y-C op-ups were mentioned to the FAs upon boarding.
This was already my 2nd op-up to F out of 5 longhaul segments in C (all booking class Z) - so not bad after almost 3 years without any op-up.
Earning only ~7000 miles for for this segment (for the RT ticket GVA-FRA-YYZ that has cost me ~4000 EUR) of course makes me much less happy ...

Two weeks ago at ORD T5 checkin for LX to ZRH here was the conversation:
Agent:"Do you want to use your evouchers to move to F?"
Me: "No thanks- if the flight is heavily booked maybe I will get an opup
Agent: "No chance- you are on a D fare and there are people ahead of you with C and J fare"
Me: "12A is fine- thanks"
Agent: "You know where the lounge is?"
Me: "yes"
Agent : "good then you don't need an escort"
Oh how the might HON have fallen
