Exclamation WAW Airport closed - flight in trouble - LO16 EWR-WAW - emergency landing planed

Just FYI... WAW airport is closed now as LO16 from JFK (B767-300) is having problems (undercarriage?) and emergency landing is planed... They just announced some streets in the airport vicinity will be closed for now, too...

I really do hope folks on board will be fine...

FYI.. the aircraft just landed without undercarriage, hopefully all passengers are safe... The aircraft stopped in the middle of the runway, most likely blocking both runways (there are two at WAW Airport)...

That was absolutely amazing. It looked like a normal landing - as if nothing were wrong. Amazing job!

The crew did a great job. Wonder what caused the landing gear to stuck that not even a manual release was possible.

Great job, yes, amazing to have no injuries.

I'm guessing this bird will be written off at her age?

Thanks for posting the video. My husband and daughter and I were outside working on painting our house (it's a holiday here) and we heard the F-16s go by and saw the LOT plane which was quite low and I thought something was wrong. I had wondered about a hijacking, but couldn't really come in and try to find out (we don't have tv anyway, so I had to wait til it was on the net somewhere.)

Then, I finished up my paint and came in and checked the news! I am SO GLAD that the pilot was able to land that thing safely! So glad. We live here, and the last thing this country needs is another airplane related disaster--anytime, but ESP on a holiday like today and so soon after Smolensk.

Not sure if this is same footage as above.

Wow...amazing landing. Kudos to flight crew, airport response, and also the engineers.

It's one thing for a military pilot to land a fighter in a similar situation but it's totally different ball game when you have 230 passengers and their families counting on you to get it right.

LOT / LO 016 EWR-WAW Makes Emergency Landing Without Landing Gear

A LOT aircraft had a landing gear failure and had to land on its belly. Thankfully, the pilots did a superb job and everyone seems to be safe.

LINK

This was a LOT 767 landing at WAW (coming from EWR).

LOT lands without wheels

I just saw a report on television of a LOT Newark-Warsaw flight (on a 757) which landed in Poland without any landing gear.

When the pilot was unable to lower the gear he used up as much fuel as possible and landed it on its belly and slid to a stop.

Apparently the sparks caused a small fire, which was put out quickly, and the passengers exited, unhurt, through slides.
