Another enhancement: Optional Payment Charge when paying with cc

Just got the information.

LH Group Airlines is going to charge a fee for use of cc:

domestic: 5 EUR
Europe: 8 EUR
International: 18 EUR

starts: 2nd Nov. 2011

What are they thinking ?

Enhancement: LH to introduce CC surcharge

LH will introduce an "optional payment charge" for payment by credit card from 02.Nov 2011.

EUR 5 per ticket for domestic tickets
EUR 8 per ticket for European tickets
EUR 18 per ticket for longhaul

Pfff.. is it confirmed?

Don't they already charge for CC? Using Paypal was for free...

But Expedia usually don't have those special sales (like the one just started now, ZRH-MUC-SIN for 579 CHF) don't they?

For tickets originating in D, CH, B, SF, UK and NL.

Until now the service fee included €5 for payment by CC.
This means in case of payment by CC the service fees will stay at €15 for intra-German and raise to from €15 to €18 for European and from €20 to €33 for Intercontinental flights.

Well, if the fare is available on ex-EU markets then they do have it.

I think there will be no cc fee on LH.com (US ver) so again, if the fare is available on US market then it's good to book over there with no fee.

Time the EU legislated to ban this practice, allowing only an amount to cover costs plus profit at the general profit margin percentage of the overall business.
