Pardon the dumb question .. but .. are they sending out physical ducks that are customized, or just some type of "avatar" for you to use when posting online? I'd love to score a customized "German edition" to sneak into vacation photos (like the Travelocity gnome).

Cheers

Swiss had that in 2010: they mailed out tiny red ducks for you to take along and take photos of. BTW, the gnome thing is ancient (from the 1980s) and appeared in the movie Amélie in 2001. Travelocity only picked it up in 2004.

Insider question - Ducks?

So.... I am looking at the ducks in the case in the FC lounge in MUC. How do you actually get a duck?

Book a shower room with a soaking tub, and the duck should be ever present.

I see lots of people asking for one - they seem to be used to the request abd have them ready.
You could also buy them on ebay, but the prices for some of the more rare versions are pretty insane.

A twelve gauge shotgun works best for me.

After acquiring a duck or two you leave the gun in the lounge, though getting it through security in the first place could be a challenge.
