Yes, I was afraid that would be the case, but for whatever reason the system said ok (>24h stops in that order).

Better call in, they see more availability. Also connecting/touching TPE (N.Asia) while travelling from S.E.Asia to N. America will trigger the 3 region award.

To avoid 3 Region award, SIN is the only option with flights to US. You can try for the 3 different SQ non-stops (SFO, LAX and EWR) or the two-stops that run under the same flight number such as SQ11/12, SQ1/2, SQ7/8, SQ25/26.

Of course, this being SQ awards using miles from other *A program are very hard to come by, but if any FFP has a chance outside of SQ KF own FFP then it is LH M&M. I redeemed Biz using M&M on SQ SIN-MXP // AMS-SIN a few months ago all on the newish A359s so it is possible, but US routes are popular from Asia (BKK-SIN-BKK is easy of cos).

Is there any way of "working" the following routing using an M&M award?:

EWR/JFK (via FRA (have it booked) to EDI, EDI to either ZRH/MUC (stay longer than 24 hours) and then onward to BOM?

(Currently redeemed EWR (and JFK, will cancel 1 soon) to EDI using 56k miles and a *very* high amount of taxes!)

Would something like this be possible with a round-trip or a RTW award?

Does M&M allow to book mixed class award? e.g VIE-LAX-PHX, I can see C award space on TATL leg and LAX-PHX in only in Y. Web does not show the availability once I try to book C. Should I call M&M to try to book it or it is married segments issue?

Yes, you can book VIE-LAX(C)-PHX(Y) for the price of one C award, but only by calling the hotline.

You could do a oneway 3+ region award US-Europe-India with a maximum of 4 legs, but you would not allowed to have a stopover (over 24h) anywhere, because stopovers are not allowed on oneway awards. If you did stay less than 24 hours in EDI and ZRH/MUC, you could book NYC-xxx-EDI-ZRH/MUC-DEL.

Your best bet would be NYC-xxx-EDI as oneway award, then purchase EDI-ZRH/MUC and then use another oneway award ZRH/MUC-BOM.

A quick question for the specialists:

I am planning to redeem some miles for next year's family vacation (2 adults, 1 child; standard M&M award on LH and other *A airlines, so no companion award and child discount apply). Leaving availability issues aside I have the following question:

If I book all three tickets under 1 PNR (maybe I need to use the SEN WL for the longhaul segments) using miles can I - at some point cancel my ticket and travel on a revenue ticket on the same route? It's requalification time next year and I could definitely use the status miles. I know that I need to make sure that the child's ticket is attached to the Mrs. ticket and not to mine, but other than that, can I split of my ticket and cx it in favor of a revenue booking? I am aware that the change / cx fee will apply.

TIA!

As you aren’t using a companion award, I would try and make two bookings and link the PNRs. That way you can always cancel one and keep the other booking. This might not work if you have to use your SEN WL for your family, but seems to be worth trying. Call M&M and they may help...

Thanks - I just got off the phone with the agent. Itin is on hold until Monday and I needed to use the SEN WL for the last segment, but it has been confirmed. The agent also confirmed that I would be able to split the booking in order for me to use a revenue ticket while the Mrs. and JR will be travelling on a M&M ticket. As a note he mentioned splitting the reservation only works in this case because no companion award is involved.

Itin is as follows:

MUC LH FRA LH SEA (I)
Destination
SEA AC YYZ AC YYT (I)
Stopover
YYT AC YYZ LH MUC (X/I)

I am still confused about the pricing. I expect this to price out as a r/t award to North America at 112k miles per person. The agent did indicate that it does actually price out as one award MUC-FRA at 20k miles per person, plus the r/t award FRA-SEA-YYT-MUC at 112k miles per person, coming to a total of 132k miles per person. I don't know if this is correct or if I should challenge this, but the way this is reserved now will be on one ticket and therefore we won't need to worry about not being protected at connection points during irrops. Any advice?

The pricing seems correct, but not for the reason given (+20k for MUC-FRA).

The +20k have to be for SEA-YYZ-YYT (oneway domestic C = 20k), because otherwise your inbound would have too many legs (4 instead of the 3 allowed) AND it would include a sidetrip (YYZ-YYT-YYZ) which is not allowed.

Thanks for the explanation. So if I were to switch MUC-FRA-SEA to MUC-YVR for example I should be safe?
Re:the "side trip" - there are no other routing alternatives available, at least none that have availability, so going via YYZ is the only option at this time.

Changing your outbound from MUC-FRA-SEA to MUC-YVR does not change anything. Your issue is with the inbound.

Thanks - change of plans anyway. I just got off the phone with the SEN line making a new reservation for 3 pax, this time @112k miles per person (and I guess we really maxed out the rules):

MUC LH (I) YYZ AC (I) YHZ [stopover] YHZ AC (X) YDF [destination / open jaw] YYT AC (X) YYZ [stopover] YYZ LH (I) FRA LH (I) MUC

Dumped the other itin already...
