LOT Polish lounge in WAW Schengen: 'Polonez'
LOT has announced the opening of a new lounge at WAW in the Schengen Area.
This means the closure of the 2 existing Schengen lounges including the tiny one in the new terminal and the bigger one in the old terminal. The non-schengen (downstairs) lounge will remain open.
On December 22nd, together with PLL, we are opening LOT Business Lounge Polonez at Chopin airport in Warsaw. The lounge will be available for LOT business class passengers, passengers of others Star Alliance group airlines, also for members of Miles&More (HON, SEN, FTL status) and Star Gold loyalty programs from others Star Alliance partners. The lounge will be also available for owners of the PLL Dobry Start cards. It is situated on the first floor of Terminal A (above the departure hall) in Schengen zone. The interior of the lounge, with the sectioned off reception, resting and buffet areas, constitutes over 500 square meters. While spending time in our lounge, passengers will be able to order various dishes from our menu, beverages, and they also will have free access to wireless Internet and Polish and foreign newspapers.

I thought it would be just a standard PPL (Polish Airport Authorities) lounge. From the information posted in this small Schengen Lounge, it was not looking like LOT & *A dedicated lounge... I am flying from WAW on Dec 26, so I will report back...

It surely is a big upgrade of what we have now in Okecie. Hope they will put some comfortable chairs in as well.
And, this is one of the first european lounges with a small children section.

Mandatory wireless Internet? - I hope this will never happen.
It would rather be advisable for * to make lounge access mandatory for all *gold members. In certain countries they don't even have lounges, e.g. in Norway for domestic flights.
Regardiing WAW, I doubt that the new lounge will be much better than the old ones. I actually like the old large. The new small is useless.
