FIRST on the 747 going from 16 to 8 from April 20th 2011?

Is it finally happening?
Looks like LH has changed F availability to F8 on most 747 flights starting April 20th, 2011!

Bad news this will mean Upgrade opportunity using HON upgrade vouchers will become less and hard to redeem on the 744

Don't be cheered up that much. It will take LH ages to convert all their 744 fleet from the old F seat to the new one

Just checked the seat map I have for a trip in August and doesn't appear to have been updated yet...still have 83A & C reserved.

Coincidentally, I've been tracking the *A (particularly US) F award availability on a regular basis for my dates of travel and just noticed that there is no F today where there was yesterday...thought this might be the reason for the US award issues.

Does this mean that the current F will be retrofitted with the new F on A380 and the that there will be much more space and privacy also on the 747? I.e. only window seats with aisle access... or are they simply just removing/blocking half of the current seats?

What if you travel with a companion, there is no way to sit next to each other anymore... or what will this look like?

I'm on LAX-FRA in June and FRA-LAX in July and it's still showing the 16 seats in F

Not much on routes operated with the 744 with the exception to FRA-DXB-FRA as it is quite busy most of the time with F revenue passengers

Good news- my experience as well (except DXB where I don't fly via FRA). Using with SQ is a little bit trickier.

Your seatmap may (as mine does), but the fare classes for sale say otherwise. Additionally, see below.
