FC Bayern switched airline sponsors this week: after using Lufthansa for 16 years they chose Qatar as their new airline for about 10 million€ /yr. I suppose it was on the horizon, the Hamad Intl Airport was sponsoring FCB quietly since quite a while...

EW will continue to sponsor BVB and LH will remain sponsor of Eintracht Frankfurt.

As a Senator travelling on a Business Class or Premium Economy Class ticket you can upgrade your next lounge visit to a first-class experience. Before your next intercontinental flight from Frankfurt or Munich, visit our First Class Lounge and enjoy its full comforts and services from just 200 euros.
I am not sure if it was discussed somewhere, but this made me laugh. I could not find how many ducks are included in that price.

Yes, hardly a bargain & the Bathroom attendants are fiercely protective of the Ducks so don’t count on more than 1

Delays/cancellations at FRA, 8 June 2018

There seem to be many delays and cancellations at FRA this evening. Does anyone know the reason?

Possibly thunderstorms? Munich seems to be 'suffering' as well.

ZRH was well closed for an hour, and given they're one of the top #3 hubs from LH group, I can see FRA getting some kind of "hit" by it as well..

KIX (Kansai International Airport near Osaka, Japan) closed by powerful typhoon

The airport which is on a man-made island was cut off when a tanker damaged the bridge linking it with the mainland. Runways were also severely hit by surging water, with some aircraft flooded up to their engines. Some 5,000 people including passengers and employees were stranded overnight.

LH operates a daily 744 service between FRA and KIX. LH741 (KIX-FRA) departed early on Tuesday (4th September) undoubtedly to make sure it got away before the typhoon hit the area. All subsequent LH740/LH741 have been cancelled and currently there is no information as to when the airport will reopen.

Meanwhile LH736 FRA-NGO today is operated by a 744 instead of the usual 343 presumably to meet increased demand. NGO is about 2 hrs to Osaka by train, compared to KIX which is about 70 mins to the city.

Wow, very dramatic photographs. Thanks for sharing.

Would it be a correct assumption that ITM is also closed and/or not in a position to accept extra traffic?

ITM and UKB (Kobe) are not affected but ITM has not handled any international flights since KIX opened in 1994. I doubt if it can handle any additional traffic in any case.
