STR is as close to Heidelberg as FRA is.
"Eurowings" 6:40 — 7:55 - rather pricy at 283€, though..
Air Berlin with the same schedule (5min earlier arrival even) is for 57€

Weird, isn't there like 4 morning flight against 1 AB flight? All those all sold out?
(and, unlike one Germanwings flight via STR and afternoon flights, not even shown on LH site as sold out?)

According to a German website Travel-Dealz.de LH will be operating the 744 between FRA and TXL on selected flights during November. It's interesting that the business seats will be disabled so they won't go fully flat. 
The good news is, they opened the Y+ seats to plebs like me (again), so I snatched one on my outbound.
The bad news is, seems like they closed off the upper J cabin, which was the reason I went and bought Business on my return in the first place. My 85A was changed for 2K

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, that flight does not safe me time in Berlin over the train or at least not as much as I had hoped for. I just booked a train ticket and hope that it is empty enough to get some sleep. Also, on the train I can have breakfast and get some work done before my meeting in Heidelberg.

YB was not used out of respect for the crash victms, YE was supposed to be a repurposed test aircraft, but it had so many faults they never took it.
