On recent flights VCE-FRA-MAN in K/Economy Light I was able to grab 11A on the 321 for both legs during OLCI. The BP scanner beeped in VCE and I was handed a new BP for 26F (exit seat by door 3R with no window) due to configuration change. As I boarded I noticed the curtains were behind row 11. I couldn't see how many pax were in C but there weren't many. Then a full FRA treatment of a bus ride (when they eventually found the steps) to ASO, followed by a walk through the tunnel to another bus gate B33. The machine beeped again and this time my new seat was 12C. Back on a bus to V122 and the same aircraft I had left an hour earlier. The curtains were still behind row 11 and there were 4 passengers in Business.

Well done LH and FRAport! At least the flights were on time.

It is now possible to book Miles & More award tickets online for Luxair flights. I wonder if that will include FlySmart awards. This has been possible since May 4th, apparently.

Free printing and copying in the Lufthansa lounges

Only just noticed this on lh.com.

Simply print and copy by WLAN. From now on guests in the Lufthansa lounges in Frankfurt and Munich can use the WLAN-enabled Konica Minolta printer free of charge. It's very easy to operate: send your documents to a dedicated email address and you will then receive a PIN code that you enter into the machine to print or copy your document.

This service will be available in all lounges in Germany until the end of November 2017; from the end of January 2018 it will be available in all Lufthansa lounges worldwide.

According to a German website Travel-Dealz.de LH will be operating the 744 between FRA and TXL on selected flights during November. It's interesting that the business seats will be disabled so they won't go fully flat.

It's Lufthansa. I would expect nothing less of them. They'll go to extra lengths in order to reduce the customer's expectation.

Air Berlin effects?

Hey guys,

I just tried to book TXL-FRA on 21 October only to realize that all morning flights seem to be fully sold out. The first available flight is LH191 at 14:55 and only in C. LH195, LH197 and LH155 are also only available in C all with only very few seats left. Is this a result of the AB bankruptcy or are there any other reasons for the booking situation?

Have a great weekend

Very possible side-effect of AB being driven out of business, sadly.

Suppose DB is a good alternative then..

I usually take the train on intra-German trips but this time I wanted to maximize time at home. I will only arrive from YVR the day before and have to be in Heidelberg at 11:00. I was not keen to take a train at 5:30 or so but it is what it is.

I am not sure if I want to risk booking AB only to find out that I can't fly in the morning, particularly with the current booking situation and little hope to be rebooked on a flight that still makes it to FRA in time should I miss the AB one. So the train it is.
