eVoucher enhancement - now only valid 24 months

It has been reported here that eVouchers will soon only be valid for 24 months.:td::td:

Unlimited validity seems to have been enhanced!

Current eVouchers in accounts and newly aquired eVoucher (until 04/2011) will remain valid for 36 months until middle of 2013 maximum.

Also see Page 61 of the new LH Exclusive Magazine 05/2010:

That is seriously bad news, especially for SENs who only earn two every 24 months. :td:

Great idea. No cost savings are realized but still the value to the customer is decreased. Who in his right mind comes up with something like this?

Obviously this is another great idea of Lufthansa's Manager of the Year.

We asked Mr Antinori if we could have our 50k eVouchers back at the StarMegaDo in FRA.
I guess he took up the idea of reviewing eVouchers !

I am sure there will be a statement soon that this was due to popular demand by customers. Similar to the enhancement of the Christmas standby upgrade voucher. (LH also told customers back then that they were eliminated at customer request !)

now this really is ridiculous. :td:

Now tcswede will have to start burning quickly !

I cannot understand the logic which must have been applied to arrive at this decision- however it is bad news.

You are not really suggesting that the mind of Lufthansa clicks 'right' ?

Their creativity is quite limited. LH is extremely monotonous in its enhancements.

sentom Apr 22, 2010 9:17 am

bad news, but not entirely unexpected...

Tirreg Apr 22, 2010 9:20 am

As a HON who always flies in the highest available class it might be difficult to burn all the eVoucher but as a SEN I donīt really have a problem finding one upgrade opportunity every 24 months.

I do ... as I never fly LH.

But even that is immaterial, as you only get one long haul ug every 24 months, you need at least 4 eVouchers to upgrade a single trip - completely undoable with 24 months validity and non-transferable vouchers.

Just have to write off those buggers as well.
