Getting into semantics here, but OK "southern" France goes a bit further north than that. According to this, Paris and Reims are open above FL200:

It should be a wise decision. After all, AC has canceled so many flights. And according to a friend who works at the airport, how much money all these airlines such BA and LH had spent to accomodate all the stranded pax at YVR.

Is this perhaps a chance for one to make some money under EU 261/2004?
One could a few bookings for next week and then volunteer to give up his seat. With the backlog, there will be ample demand for the seats...

Last update: April 18th, 0001 UTC
No Lufthansa flights worldwide until Sunday, April 18th, 1800 UTC
Please read the latest updates on the flight status here on this page.
Like all other airlines, Lufthansa must comply with directives issued by ministries and air traffic control. Many European airports have closed. In Germany, the airports in Berlin, Bremen, Cologne, Dortmund, Dresden, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Hof, Leipzig, Munich, Muenster/Osnabrueck, Nuremberg and Stuttgart have shut down. All arrivals at and departures from these airports have been cancelled until further notice.
Lufthansa has cancelled all flights worldwide scheduled until Sunday, April 18th, 1800 UTC (8pm local German time). Passengers whose flights have been cancelled are kindly asked not to travel to the airport.
