Upgrade from Z Class?

Upgrade from Z Class?
Hi all,

is it possible to upgrade (using miles) from Z Class to F ?
The mileage calculator just say C & D for example...

you can of course upgrade Z tickets with M&M miles...

...unless they are ex-USA based fares, where Z rules are no longer eligible for upgrades !

The LH checkin software now greys out the upgrade option on these fares !

All other Z fare are upgradable!

Thanks for the answers.

I was asking because there is no 'Upgrade' button when i log into LH website and look at my booking.
Is there no upgrade button visible when no upgrades available ?

Which fare base is it and where does the ticket originate ?

You can even upgrade Z with printed swu on LH metal. But not with eSWU on UA metal.

Upgrading this should be no problem at all, provided the F award availability is there.

Just call LH M&M and upgrade by phone.

its no problem to upgrade this thru the hotline, i only fly on Z tickets and never had an issue upgrading any of them. the problem with ex US fares is news to me but then again i never issue Z fares ex US...

in any case i was never able to upgrade a booking online that i added to "my bookings" either, i always had to call...

I have booked a Z fare with the LH Office here in Singapore - and that special fare is not upgradeable (neither for money nor any upgrade instruments). That Z fare was offered for one day only - all other Z fares out of SIN are upgradeable...

It must have been a VERY special Z fare! Were you the only one privileged to book this VERY special fare?

It was the 50% discount promo in SIN.

The similar fares ex-BKK however are upgradeable !

Otherwise our Chief Maximizer wouldn't have touched them.
And you didn't even have to visit the LH office in BKK to book this fare.

Use the Miles & More Website when it's not showing up on lufthansa.com (had the same issue once).

One other thing learned the hard way: Z, non-LH J etc ist not upgradeable via PPB / CompanyPlus, only C/D...
