I find them very interesting. Maybe it would make sense to move them to a separate thread for targeted promos.

My last target was 29,500 status miles which I didn't meet. This time the target is 32,500 miles!
It's only of academic interest.
I've added the promo to the wiki post.

I think it could be interesting to read about those promos as they may give you an idea on how those targets are being calculated.
I got an offer of 1'550 for 3'500 (collected about 3'000 status miles this year, all my other flights went to A3) while I had about 12'000 in previous year's last quarter.
So the target seems to be unrelated to the amount flown in previous years (as some have speculated). But it's the first target for me this year.
Edit: Correction; per today, I have collected 4'694 status miles on 13 segments this year.

I received the same offer--there must be an algorithm based on travel patterns to determine the challenge levels...
I also find extra award miles to be not so useful anyway...Now if they were to try to induce me with extra status miles, they might be able to influence my behavior a little bit...@:-)

I believe that their algorithm is becoming more sophisticated: I have the impression that it is also based on the miles that they forecast based on our current reservations. In my case I have bookings for about 35k miles, and my threshold is quite high, 47k to get the bonus...Thinking to switch the miles to other program, as I already requalified for Sen

I have the feeling that they also check the pax names not just the FF number:
I have an upcoming trip to the far east, with CA, but one feeder LH segment., (I have my A3 number on the reservation)
I still got a 10.5k target altough I have bookings for less than 900 miles with my LH number on it. So I feel like LH IT system knows I am flying more in this period.

Earn 6,500 status miles when you fly between 15 October 2013 and 15 January 2014, and as a reward, you'll be credited with an additional 2,000 award miles.*
On the upside, this is my first ever targeted promotion, so apparently I'm now worth bothering to e-mail. I'm flattered.

I have actually booking with the LH group for about 7500 miles in that time frame (6000 excluding bonus). No way that I'll book another 21500 miles for the next 2,5 months, especially not with the worsened conditions in 2014.
I liked a recent SK promotion better. Got me 16k bonus points for 5 return flights.
Do you think they comb out Amadeus?
