Very nice of you. I am sure someone will be happy to take on your offer.

But you know that you can get a M&M credit card that will stop your miles from expiring?

Very generous. Having a passport would be nice right now. I guess this opportunity will encourage me to get it.

Since when do you need to be 21 to get the CC ?

Anyway, as I wrote in my PM I suggest you book an award 1 year from now and save your miles that way !

Much as I hate to say it, because I would love to snag this ticket, you could just get your mom or another adult age 21 or older to co-sign the credit card. Probably better to give the trip to your mom than to a stranger.

Ben, I just realized that his ticket can also be used from Germany to the US, so the recipient of your gift could also come from this side of the Atlantic if you wish.

However, as others have said, I would explore some options to keep those miles alive. Your best bet would be a Miles&More credit card. Booking the ticket and then cancelling is not an option on this special offer for 20K - the terms and conditions state that the ticket is non-changeable and non-refundable so your miles would be lost in that case.

Otherwise, if you can top up your account to 25K before the miles expire, you have enough for a domestic flight within the USA (excluding Hawaii). Tickets at that mileage level are changeable and refundable, so this would open some additional options for you.

First off, AMAZING offer!! What really stinks is that I'd signed up for an optional shift on Friday (27.11.09) and if I hadn't done that, I would have been able to leave here on 26.11.09 (Thanksgiving) ...

But just curious, did they send out the newsletter late? I mean, wasn't the offer mostly over by the time they sent it out?

BTW does Miles-and-More have any equivalent of the US airlines' "buy a newspaper with miles" deal? Might be worth wasting 1000 miles or so in order to keep the other 19000.
