Great posts all -- thank you very much for all of your input. Flyertalk is the best.
I'll be out there for a few days next week -- I have a pretty good list of places to view thanks to these posts, earlier recommendations, and Westside Rentals, so my task will be to visit the apartments/neighborhoods and ask: "Can I see myself living here?" I'll be sure to post back here with what I choose -- I can see the positives with each area. What's my favorite? I suppose I'll find out next week. |
I'm moving too!
Some of you will remember me and my thread from a couple of months ago, when I came to LA to visit and figure out if, and where, I should move.
Well that's it, I'm here. I don't want to dilute the conversation with my own stuff, but share a few thoughts. After careful consideration, I think I like West Hollywood, especially the melrose/miracle mile area more than most. Awesome restaurants and cafes, plenty of small parks and close to Griffith, close to most places I want to go to. (A little far from the beach, but you can't go to the beach everyday, can you?) I'm told it's a very gay area, but I feel great here even though I'm straight (but maybe that's because I'm a tolerant guy). Your commute wouldn't be too bad either. Right now I'm in temporary housing on Pico and Beverly, but I'll move there ASAP. Other than that, I've been to Los Feliz a few times, and it sounds fantastic for what you're looking. You have to spend a day there, go to the park, go to lunch at The Alcove. I want to thank the guys who helped me out with my previous thread (iapetus, wingless among others). The idea of a DO is awesome, as I don't know many people myself... |
