if you want something different, try Mario's Peruvian joint in Hollywood. been there and pretty good food. try the mussels as appetizers. you can read the reviews here:

I'll second that. The food is good and affordable. Caution, the place closes early for LA standard, I believe 8:00pm and it does get BUSY at lunchtime 12:30pm - 1:30pm.
