New GE Kiosks at LAX

Came back on Sunday November 21 and there are new GE kiosks that only require passport scan. No need to select "no to all" nor is a paper printed.

I assume you still need to touch the screen at least once to scan the passport?

That's great news! My wife has very shallow fingerprint ridges and almost always has trouble with the GE reader.

We have a thread discussing Global Entry kiosks utilizing facial recognition technology in the Trusted Travelers forum:

I did this at LAX coming back from Greece via LHR in June. Made things quick. Didn't talk to anyone, the CBP agent was just ushering people through, just walked straight out, picked up my luggage, then straight through an empty customs line with no agents.

Ditto here this past weekend. At the kiosks, the agent was calling us out by name as we walked by him.
Downstairs, there wasn't a single person manning the customs booth on the way out.
How does one declare anything? I had some chocolates and I usually declare it, but no way to easily do it this time.
