Burbank. One of the easiest airports there is, and convenient to downtown.
Always avoid LAX if possible.

As this isn't an AA question, but more of a LA regional issue, I'll move this over to that forum.

By public transportation, it's easier to get to Staples Center from LAX than BUR. Just take the Green Line shuttle to the Green Line to the Blue Line. From BUR, it's Metrolink, which does not run as frequently, to the Red Line to the Blue Line.

Hawthorne Airport if cost isn't a factor.
Between LAX and BUR though. A person can consider which airport is easier to use and which airport is most conveniently located to get to and from the Staple Center. Which is more conveniently located can depend on time at which you will arrive at any airport. Right now at 8:16am, it is 40 minutes to drive the 17 miiles from Burbank to Staples Center. LAX is 37 minutes away for the similar miles. You can use Google maps to determine the usual travel times for the day and time you plan to travel.

If it's ease, then LAX.
LAX Flyaway bus to Union Station, then the Metro Red line to either the Blue or Expo lines, go 1 stop to the Pico Station and Staples is 1 block away. All for just less than $12.
You could take the Green line from the airport (Take the Aviation metro shuttle, as the station is off-airport) to the Blue line, but that's a lot more time, but it would be $1.75 for just the Metro Fare.
