Peninsula v Bel Air v Four Seasons BH
 

Spending 24 hours of bliss in LA before a long flight to Asia. I'm familiar with the different locations of these hotels, and the hard product to some degree but looking for advice on the soft product. The service, the vibe, the relaxation by the pool etc - all for a solo traveler.

Or put another way, these are my only hesitation for each. Any validation?

Peninsula - perhaps too formal? or some of the rooms too noisy as close to Santa Monica Blvd? I'm not uncomfortable in a Peninsula necessarily, but maybe in LA it would be a bit much.

Hotel Bel Air - since the renovation, some say it's lost it's soul? too focused on the hollywood elite scene?

Four Seasons Beverly Hills - perhaps the most relaxed and casual service? in a good way? is there a big gap in quality here than with the two above?

What sort of service needs do you have in the 24 hours before your flight? Room service? Spa? Private shopping excursion? Concierge to book a very hard to obtain dinner reservation? Hotel car service to/from airport? Also, do you want a trendy pool scene with lots of people, almost a pool party, or do you just want to relax?

If you don't insist on Beverly Hills, I'd suggest Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica. It's casual but elegant and would be very relaxing. You can walk along the beach to the famous pier with the Ferris wheel but IIRC there's an admission charge to enter the pier.

Within BH, if you don't need to be next to Rodeo Drive, there's a Raffles hotel that's very relaxing with somewhat of an Asian vibe. I'm not sure how much fun the big famous BH properties would be by oneself unless you like the possibility of seeing some celebrities and Hollywood deal makers from afar but on property.

If Beverly Hills is a requirement, perhaps you also should consider the Beverly Hills Hotel, which has a really cool pool area, or the Montage, which has a more central location. Both have good pool areas, although the two are very different in many ways.

We got married at Shutters... so I think that is an excellent suggestion.

No admission fee to walk on the SM Pier, just for the amusement park with the ferris wheel and other rides. We go to the pier almost every weekend as our child takes lessons at the Trapeze School.

And I got married at the Hotel Bel Air, I certainly like the vibe there even with the remodel. Place is still great! I would go there over the other places suggested.. Just the ride in Bel Air gets you relaxing.. Any uestions just ask!
