Its a brand that has been slowly losing its identity and loyalty for a while. Strong during the 1960s through 1980s, it has faded since then. Very popular still with the senior crowd, but they're not huge spenders.

Wow, I had no idea that was the original location. I used to live 10 minutes away, and I've never stopped in, only drove by.

All the ones around my neighborhood closed 5-10 years ago.

A high school friend worked at the Fresno MC in the mid 70s.

The general manager of his location was fanatical about the pies and would reject a lot of them with minor cosmetic blemishes, giving them to staff. My friend would end up with multiple pies every night.

My mom lived about 6 blocks from the location, so my friend would stop on his way home and drop her off one or two pies.

Interesting. I only knew them from their frozen chicken pot pies at Costco. :)
