Magic Castle Hotel vs. The Redbury

So obviously you can tell I'd like to stay in Hollywood area. Both Magic Castle and The Redbury are pretty highly reviewed but curious if you have a recommendation between the two? Redbury is a little more expensive but with a current promotion on a booking engine, I can get it for close to what I would pay at Magic Castle.

If you've never been to The Magic Castle and if you don't know any magicians that will guest you in, I highly recommend The Magic Castle Hotel for the simple fact that if you stay there you are permitted to attend an evening of shows at The Magic Castle.

Thanks SWC, appreciate that.

As far as the hotel grounds and rooms though, what did you think?

Can't speak to those aspects because I've never stayed at either property. But Magic Castle hotel offers a unique Los Angeles experience.

If considering the Magic Castle Hotel, you might also look into the Hollywood Hills Hotel. It is part of the Magic Castle Hotel, located up the hill from it. You will be directly adjacent to Yamashiro's. (The pool you see when dining at Yamashiro's is part of the Hollywood Hills Hotel, and you will have access to it.)

You get all the amenities offered at the Magic Castle Hotel, including access to the Magic Castle.

Rooms are spacious but are not updated. It is an old apartment complex. So you will have a kitchen, living and bedroom in many cases. Views are amazing.

It's a bit of a tradeoff, since the rooms are not as nice, but we enjoyed staying there with my 20-month-old son. It worked out very well for us to have the extra space and cooking facilities.

Almost forgot: Rooms are often less expensive than down below at the Magic Castle Hotel.
