LAX Computer Problems

LA Times is reporting computer problems in the LA area grounding all takeoffs. Anybody on the ground seeing the effects of this first hand? Flying into BUR later today and it seems like the whole region is affected according to the article.

A more detailed story is here:

A technical issue at a Federal Aviation Administration facility in Palmdale led to a near complete shutdown of Los Angeles area airports for more than an hour on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

Departures were halted at all Los Angeles Area airports at about 1:50 p.m., officials said. Arriving flights that were relatively close to their destination airports were allowed to land. But many others diverted to airports across the West. Some flights were canceled.
And an update:

The ground stop was lifted shortly before 3:30 p.m., and flights were slowly resuming takeoffs.

Airport officials advised passengers to check with their airlines before heading to the airport. Some delays of more than two hours were being reported at LAX.

No official confirmation of the exact cause, but word is that the software couldn't handle the radar data from a U-2.
