LAX terminal/security question.

My cousin and I will be driving to LAX together in a couple of weeks.
She is leaving out of Terminal 8 (on United) and I leave from terminal 4 (AA)
Can she clear security to be my guest at the Admiral's Club?
Thanks,
d

I dont think so- those are completely different parts of the airport and the boarding pass checkers you see 3 times before security - will likely not let her into a terminal she wont depart from.

I think youre hosed on this one.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I usually fly in and change terminals via bus inside security. Haven't embarked from LAX in awhile, but that is how I remember it.

I don't think you can easily change terminals via bus inside security either at LAX. Most of the buses require you to have a BP for the terminal you're getting to, and even then, only allow pax on certain carriers on (e.g., QF from T4 to TBIT).

There are airside walkways between adjacent terminals but only some are open to the public -- T5 to T6 for example, and I think T8 to T7 (since both are United). I think you also could go from T7 to T6 but it's been a long time since I've been down that way.

I fly out of LAX quite a bit and this is correct. You will need the appropriate BP to enter the terminal.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but with some prior notice as a AC member, couldn't the OP get a T4 AC pass for the friend, under the guise of a business meeting?

Hmm... that sounds like one option. Just request it 24 hours in advance.

Probably too late for the OP (and a better solution is above), but...

T6, T7, and T8 are connected airside. T6 near Gate 63 or 65 has a shuttle bus "stop" (ask a gate agent) to the little American Eagle terminal. I rode this and the driver didn't ask about a BP (remember we're all airside anyway). It would seem obvious that the little American Eagle terminal also has a shuttle to (American) T4, so it should work, somewhat slowly.

ETA: airport layout west-to-east is T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, little American Eagle terminal.
So the shuttle probably runs from T4 Gate 44 to T6 Gate 63 to little American Eagle terminal, then the same in reverse. So catching the east-to-west portion of the shuttle would be quickest but perhaps much more prone to complications.
